About the role: This position sits within Convatec’s Global Quality and Operations function, specifically in the Global Supply Chain team, which encompasses demand and supply planning, logistics, and customer service. The role is responsible for managing the demand planning process for designated business units, geographies, and product portfolios, covering short-, medium-, and long-term planning horizons. Key responsibilities include partnering with the commercial organization to align demand with business plans and targets, translating market requirements into actionable demand signals, managing inventory levels, and driving market-level S&OP processes. The role plays a critical part in supporting patient needs and Convatec’s operational commitments by ensuring product availability, enabling market growth, enhancing profitability, and promoting efficient cash management.
Your key duties and responsibilities:
- Demand Planning and S&OP Process: Develop highly collaborative and trusted relationships with the Commercial and Marketing organizations to ensure Demand requirements are understood and accurately transmitted to Supply Planning. Manage the market demand plans over the planning horizon to identify trends, event scenarios, issues and corrective actions, through demand analysis, demand scenarios, reconciliation with financials and commercial collaboration. Accountable for running and evolving the market level S&OP processes and ensure the scope of the S&OP performance metrics are being met. Owner of the forecasting tool for the defined scope, including all data inputs per the update cycles. Primary Supply Chain point of contact for the markets in their area of responsibility. Actively develop the relationships with markets commercial and financial teams to build market knowledge over the 18-, 24- and 36-months planning horizon. Ensure communication of volume and portfolio requirements are effectively communicated to the Supply Planning team to ensure continuity of supply. Where tender processes exist, ensure products in bids can be supplied and key decision points are mapped to manage supply without excess inventory. Own, monitor and publish performance metrics & reports, Business Unit dashboard and status reports. Includes development and maintaining KPI’s.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory strategy defined by SCH Lead for their scope, partnering closely with the Supply Planning team to ensure alignment of metrics and efficiency of the proposal. Ensure the rightsizing and efficiency of the finished goods inventory for the Business Units/Markets assigned based on inventory strategy. Review excess inventory and obsolescence and provide re-active and pro-active steps to reduce risk with close coordination with the commercial and financial teams. Identify areas for improved efficiency in service and inventory and align SAP parameters accordingly.
- Life Cycle Management: Actively manage the Business Unit product portfolio, coordinate new product launches and end of life activities. Accountable for systems being aligned during launch and discontinuation processes. Reduce risk by communicating clearly with commercial teams by identifying deviations from launch or discontinuation plans.
- Other: With an understanding of the GQO strategic priorities and those of Convatec and the specific market needs, develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to drive simplification, additionally to balance and optimize forecast accuracy, inventory management and customer service. Lead and/or participate on projects including cost savings and continuous improvement projects. Act as backup to other Business Unit Demand Planners during vacation, business travel or other times on an as needed basis.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven Background and experience in a Demand Planning/S&OP leadership level at a market &/ regional level.
- SAP and IBP modules experience highly preferred – transactions and reports.
- Global experience and in healthcare (Medical Device or Pharma) preferred.
- Experience in the S&OP/IBP process.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Critical thinking skills/process thinking orientation.
- Self-initiator.
- Strong analytical skills together with business acumen.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority, build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different departments and all levels.

Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor's degree minimum. Preferably in demand planning, supply chain or operations management or equivalent experience.
- Experience in SAP IBP is a must, experience in SAP4HANA is highly preferred.
- APICS Certification highly preferred (current certification with CPIM or CSCP).
Travel Requirements: The position may involve travel up to 15% of the time. International travel is possible. Most trips will include overnight travel.
Working Conditions: This role is based in Deeside or London with a hybrid working structure. Special Factors: Role collaborates with multiple functions across the globe, so will need to be mindful of time zones. Standard hours of work are Monday to Friday, on exceptional occasions flexibility may be requested to work on a weekend.
