About the role
As Group Tax Manager, you will lead global tax operations for a FTSE 100 company with businesses in over 100 countries. This pivotal role manages direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance across the organization. You will work closely with a team of experienced in‑house tax professionals and external advisors to ensure robust compliance and reporting processes and will play a key role in shaping and implementing a future‑focused tax operating model, driving transformation and efficiency across the tax lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Tax Compliance & Reporting: Oversee and monitor outsourced global compliance processes for corporate income tax across nearly 100 countries. Support the Group Tax Reporting Manager with tax provisions, prior‑year adjustments, and provide insights to internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Transformation & Change: Drive transformation across direct and indirect tax operations by supporting CBS (Convatec Business Services) finance teams with finance transformation initiatives, developing, training and managing centralized in‑house CBS tax teams, and implementing a future‑focused tax operating model that integrates internal teams, third‑party providers and automation tools.
- Advisory & Strategic Support: Stay up to date on global tax laws and regulations, advising business units on potential impacts. Support the wider tax team on tax strategy, transfer pricing and ad‑hoc projects.
About You
You are a technically strong tax professional with experience in direct tax and a passion for driving change. You thrive in complex, multinational environments and are eager to broaden your expertise across the full tax lifecycle.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in an in‑house tax function within a multinational enterprise.
- Strong technical knowledge of direct and indirect tax and tax accounting.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and cultural awareness.
- Ability to build strong relationships with local finance teams, advisors and authorities.
