About the role

  • This role is part of the Global Quality and Operations function and specifically sits in the Global Supply Chain team encompassing demand and supply planning, logistics and customer service.

  • The role supports patient requirements and Convatec operational commitments to product availability, market growth, profitability and efficient cash management.

Your key duties and responsibilities

  • Supply Planning:
    • Support the S&OP process with Commercial and Finance teams; support the S&OE process with Production sites and Procurement.
    • Drive the Manufacturing Site S&OE with scenarios and recommendations on risks and opportunities.
    • Manage supply for assigned products to meet customer service objectives while achieving inventory targets.
    • Allocate product to market distribution centres based on available‑to‑ship notes from manufacturing plants and raise purchase orders to replenish satellite DCs and rebalance inventory between warehouses.
    • Support inter‑company markets and Customer Service with expected availability dates and supply information for backorders, low stock items, new business opportunities, tenders and new product launches.
    • Communicate reviews of potential back‑order risks or manufacturing overstock to manufacturing plants.
    • Align on priorities with manufacturing plants and commercial teams when supply is less than demand.
    • Work with manufacturing plants and distribution centres to resolve shipping discrepancies, invoicing errors, damage claims and correct master data to prevent future discrepancies.
    • Align demand with third‑party production plans, optimise inventory and supply continuity using ERP systems and analytics to support planning accuracy, assess capacity capabilities and coordinate cross‑functionally.
  • New Product Development & Life Cycle Management:
    • Support the management of the Business Unit product portfolio, coordinate new product launches and end‑of‑life activities.
    • Ensure system alignment during launch and discontinuation processes.
    • Reduce risk by communicating deviations from launch or discontinuation plans.
    • Participate in project teams, including Advanced Operations, to present supply planning outcomes for forecast scenarios and support scenario planning and realization for NPDs.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Manage inventory strategy defined by the SCH Lead for the assigned scope; partner with Demand Planning to align metrics and improve proposal efficiency.
    • Ensure the rightsizing and efficiency of finished‑goods inventory for assigned Business Units/Markets.
    • Review excess or lacking inventory and provide proactive and reactive steps to reduce risk with close coordination with demand, commercial and financial teams.
    • Identify areas for improved efficiency in service and inventory and adjust SAP parameters accordingly.
  • Other:
    • Act as backup to other Business Unit Supply Planners during vacation, business travel or other times as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven background and experience in supply planning.
  • Experience participating in production and market S&OE, S&OP forums.
  • Experience with SAP and IBP modules – transactions and reports.
  • Global experience and exposure to healthcare (Medical Device or Pharma) preferred.
  • Experience in the S&OP/IBP process.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Critical thinking and process‑oriented mindset.
  • Self‑initiated and proactive attitude.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills; ability to partner with and influence without direct authority.
  • Highly organised and well‑prepared.
  • Ability to work independently on complex issues and on tight deadlines.
  • Strong listening and influencing skills.

Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelor's degree minimum, preferably in supply chain, operations management, engineering or equivalent experience.
  • APICS Certification highly preferred (current CPIM or CSCP).

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 15% travel; international travel possible with overnight stays.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid and office based.
  • 6‑month fixed‑term contract.

Special Factors

  • The role collaborates with multiple global functions; mindful of time zones. Standard hours Monday to Friday; occasional weekend flexibility may be requested.
