Controlled Space is a leading provider of venue and event security services, recognised for delivering exceptional crowd management, customer service, and safety across the live events industry.

As we prepare for an exciting and busy events season, we are expanding our team of Event Safety Stewards across York and the wider Yorkshire region. We work with some of the area's most popular venues, including The Piece Hall, York LNER Stadium, Bradford City Valley Parade, and many more.

Whether you're looking for regular shifts or occasional work to fit around existing commitments, our flexible casual contracts allow you to choose when and how often you work.

Due to the nature of the events industry, availability during evenings and weekends is essential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Controlled Space team member, you will:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and customer care at all times
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Manage the safe and efficient flow of customers entering venues and events
  • Monitor crowd behaviour and identify potential safety concerns
  • Assist members of the public with venue information and directions
  • Investigate and respond to incidents and disturbances when required
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and support emergency services where necessary
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed by customers, venue staff, contractors, and fellow team members

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends
  • Be able to provide a full 5-year checkable employment and education history in accordance with BS7858 screening requirements
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be reliable, professional, and able to remain calm under pressure
