Grinding / Linishing Operative Location: Aldridge, Walsall (WS9)
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00am–4:00pm | Friday, 6:00am–3:00pm
Job Overview: We are currently recruiting for a Grinding / Linishing Operative to join an established steel manufacturing company.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced grinder, linisher, fettler or deburring operative to join a busy workshop environment, working with steel components and ensuring products are finished to the required standard.
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual with a good eye for detail who takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities: Grinding and linishing steel components to achieve the required finish.
Removing burrs, sharp edges and excess material from metal products.
Fettling and deburring components to ensure they meet quality standards.
Inspecting finished products to identify any imperfections or defects.
Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
Assisting with general labouring and other workshop duties when required.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
Following all health and safety procedures within the workshop.
Working as part of a team to meet production deadlines and maintain quality standards.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience in grinding, linishing, fettling or deburring.
Experience working with steel or metal components within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of their work.
The ability to follow instructions and work to production requirements.
A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong awareness of workshop health and safety.
