We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bar Saw Operative to join a busy production team. This role will involve operating saw machinery to cut metal bar and plate to customer specifications, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and safety at all times. Previous experience operating saw machinery within a metals or engineering environment is ESSENTIAL for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate bar saw / band saw machinery to cut metal materials (aluminium, stainless steel, etc.)
- Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials to required specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job sheets
- Load and unload materials using a forklift (counterbalance)
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and finish meet company standards
- Maintain machinery and ensure work areas are clean and safe
- Work to production targets and deadlines
- Follow all health and safety regulations
