We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bar Saw Operative to join a busy production team. This role will involve operating saw machinery to cut metal bar and plate to customer specifications, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate bar saw / band saw machinery to cut metal materials (aluminium, stainless steel, etc.)
  • Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials to required specifications
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and job sheets
  • Load and unload materials using a forklift (counterbalance)
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and finish meet company standards
  • Maintain machinery and ensure work areas are clean and safe
  • Work to production targets and deadlines
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies

Requirements (ESSENTIAL):

  • Proven experience as a Bar Saw Operator / Bandsaw Operator (MUST HAVE)
  • Experience working with metals (e.g. aluminium, stainless steel, or similar)
  • Valid external Counterbalance Forklift Licence (in-date)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environment

Desirable (Not Essential):

  • Experience working in a metal stockholding or cutting environment
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Knowledge of different metal grades and cutting techniques
