We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Setter to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for setting up and preparing machinery to ensure efficient production runs. Your expertise will help maintain high-quality standards, optimize machine performance, and support seamless manufacturing operations. Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate various manufacturing equipment, including CNC milling machines, ensuring optimal operation.
  • Program and operate CNC machinery using CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), and CNC programming techniques to produce precise parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and materials specifications to ensure accurate setup and production.
  • Conduct routine inspections of tooling, fixtures, and machine components using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse handling tools; coordinate with warehouse staff for materials movement.
  • Support quality control efforts by verifying dimensions and tolerances during setup and production runs; document setup procedures and results.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of machining processes including CNC programming, milling, turning, stamping, welding, and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply GD&T principles effectively.
  • Knowledge of tooling setup, materials handling equipment like forklifts, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience is highly preferred; familiarity with packaging lines or assembly lines is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly; commitment to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
