We are now looking for a French or Portuguese speaking Researcher to join our Intelligence and Investigations team in Nairobi or London on a six month fixed term contract basis. In this role you will support a team conducting intelligence and investigations across sub-Saharan Africa. You will participate in the investigation, evaluation and interpretation of open source and human intelligence information and contribute to the production of well‑written reports to serve a range of intelligence requirements for our clients. You should be a critical thinker with an interest in business transactions and operations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality research to support a range of intelligence and investigations projects including due diligence, strategic intelligence, ESG due diligence, market entry studies, as well as other problem‑solving investigations.
- Support the team on business development initiatives such as pre‑meeting preparatory and scoping research, subject matter briefings, and marketing material including case studies.
- Support the team’s knowledge management initiatives, including the identification of new tools and information sources to strengthen research capabilities.
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Education to Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Professional fluency and strong writing abilities in English; professional fluency in French or Portuguese.
- Demonstrable interest in global and current affairs, sub‑Saharan Africa’s commercial environment, as well as topics relating to corruption and fraud.
- Previous exposure to intelligence and risk consulting‑related research is advantageous.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
