Mechanical Engineer Surveyor / Inspection Engineer

Home / Field based. You can live anywhere in Taunton (15 mile radius).

Salary: circa £40,000 + car + pension + 26 days holiday + bank holidays + benefits + training.

Hours: Mon – Fri daytime.

Experience:

  • Must have hands-on experience on: Lifting & handling equipment & machinery, materials handling, mechanical handling, overhead cranes, etc.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • You may be a maintenance or service engineer seeking a more ‘off the tools’ type of role.
  • Ex Forces background can be ideal but not essential - Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME), RAF, Army, Navy, Marine Engineer.

Duties:

  • Homebased, carry out surveys and inspections on a wide range of industrial, commercial and manufacturing plant and machinery.
  • Ensure equipment is safe and fit for use & complies with legislation (LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSHH).
  • Write / complete reports.
  • You will be assigned varied & interesting work / companies to visit in your region but given freedom to plan and manage your own work.
