The predicted salary is between 22000 - 30000 £ per year.

Due to the continued expansion of our operations in the North of England / South of Scotland, we are seeking to add a number of Trainees to our current team of Traffic Management Operatives (TMOs) within CTM Carlisle (part of the Contraflow Group). Traffic Management can be a tough career choice, hours are often anti-social with full flexibility required. Being outdoors in all weather conditions is also a factor and the role does not suit everyone.

Duties

  • Work with more experienced Operatives to set up and maintain Traffic Management
  • Complete tasks in the depot such as equipment maintenance and sandbags
  • Installation and maintenance of Temporary Traffic Lights

Requirements

  • You MUST have a driving licence and be comfortable driving commercial vehicles up to 3.5t.
  • Due to shift starts and finish times, you MUST have your own transport to get to work.
  • We do not require a specific work history but a background in construction or labour (ideally outdoors) is preferred.

Pay and Progression

We will invest heavily in your training and can progress very quickly within Contraflow. An example of this progression is noted below:

  • Start on NMW (£10.00 for under 21, £12.21 for 21+).
  • Within 4-6 months, this can rise to £12.50 day, £12.90 night, £13.40 weekend.
  • Within 6-12 months, you may achieve the required qualifications to take your pay to £13.10 day, £15.20 night, £16.35 weekend.

Progression is based on ability, reliability, and attitude. If you have all three, you will progress very quickly in Contraflow. If you are not motivated to succeed, and feel that you would struggle to get out of bed at 5am on a cold, dark, wet November morning, then please don’t waste your time or ours.
