Job Description
In this role you will run courses and then assess the competence of traffic management operatives and supervisors working under the National Highways Sector Schemes (NHSS) 12AB and 12D. You will ensure that all candidates demonstrate safe, compliant, and competent working practices in accordance with sector scheme standards, legislation, and company procedures. You will work with the Training Team to forecast requirements, manage administration, and deliver high quality results.
This will be a rewarding and demanding role and you will;
- Plan and schedule Courses and assessments with operatives and staff.
- Liaise with the Planning Team to ensure availability of Operatives.
- Conduct on-site and practical assessments for NHSS 12AB and NHSS 12D.
- Observe, evaluate, and record candidate performance against approved criteria and standards.
- Complete and submit all course and assessment documentation, logbooks accurately and promptly.
- Maintain Contraflow Training Database and ensure all paperwork is kept up to date
- Act as a mentor or ensure suitable mentoring of new recruits is undertaken until a suitable competency level is reached.
In order to be considered for interview, you require the majority of, if not all, the below;
- M2, M3, M4, M5, LTMO Traffic Management Qualifications
- Approved and current NHSS 12AB Assessor and/or NHSS 12D Assessor registration
- Demonstrable experience in traffic management operations at supervisory or management level.
- Strong understanding of Chapter 8, Safety at Street Works and Road Works (Red Book)
- Excellent communication, observation, and record-keeping skills.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel nationwide.
- Desirable:
- Approved Instructor status (NHSS 12AB or 12D).
- Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification or experience.
- Health and safety qualification (e.g. SSSTS, SMSTS, or NEBOSH).
- Experience mentoring or training field operatives.
This position attracts a competitive remuneration package and benefits. We will consider applicants without the full suite of qualifications listed however the renumeration will be based on candidate abilities. Opportunities such as this do not come around very often.
