CCL Global are currently recruiting in Bristol who are looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to join their team for the HPC Project (Hinkley Point) to work in JDO offices, and Hinkley Point C (HPC). Hinkley Point C (HPC) is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of Nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. The project is delivered through an organisation that comprises multi-disciplinary teams Flexibility: Hybrid (2 days from home) Location: Bristol, Contract/Permanent: Permanent Key Duties will include: * The Lead Civil Engineer will support a small dedicated transverse team within Civil group who provide technical expertise across a number of civil building design teams for the Nuclear Island of the HPC Nuclear New Building Project. * The activities will be performed on HPC site, in JDO offices. Working on HPC project. The activities will be performed within a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural environment, sticking to a project way of working with high expectation on delivery time, schedule, safety and nuclear safety. * Receive Analyse, and verify the consistency of the input data. * Modifying reinforced concrete structure designs compliant with the ETCC, other relevant codes, * Maintaining the client’ QA procedures in delivering the CW design, * Working and reviewing with the designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models modified, * Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures, * Liaising with colleagues in Paris (Malakoff) or Bristol. * Liaise with subject matter experts. Key relationships: * Building layout teams (JDODT) (Site) * Piping layout team (JDODT) (Site) * Civils team (Paris, UK Bristol) * Client Tier 1 contractor Requirements: Essential * Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, * Knowledge of Structural Civil Work, Civil Design and Construction, * Experience in Nuclear civil work OR complex structure, * Experience in design of concrete structure, * Experience in detailed design or conceptual design in an office or on a civil construction site, * Experience on project dealing with material interfaces. Desirable * Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree: Civil Engineering, * Experience with on site design support, * Experience on wide projects, * Ability to work independently, be pro-active, report on and escalate relevant issues. Language(s): Fluent English, French advantageous
