CCL Global are currently recruiting for a C&I Wire Person / Panel Builder to support a highly advanced research and engineering environment within the UK energy sector. This is a hands-on, workshop and site-based role working within a complex, high-integrity, safety-critical facility supporting control and instrumentation systems.
Type of Contract: Contract (Inside IR35)
Location: Culham, Abingdon, Oxfordshire – 100% onsite
Contract Length: 12 months
Key Duties Will Include:
- Provide C&I wire person / panel building support across multiple teams and control & instrumentation systems
- Carry out fault finding and repair of C&I systems under supervision, using both written procedures and independent diagnostic methods
- Support Plant Responsible Officers (PROs) with fault finding, maintenance, and repair activities on facility C&I systems
- Procure, build, wire, test, and commission new plant and equipment including cubicles, sub-racks, assemblies, and electronic cards
- Perform bench testing and in-situ fault diagnosis on industrial control systems
- Undertake delicate and precision work such as thermocouple connections and fragile instrumentation wiring
- Take ownership of technical delivery for assigned tasks where appropriate
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including safe systems of work and work records
- Support general operational duties across facility engineering activities as required
Requirements:
- Apprentice-trained C&I / Electrical Technician or equivalent industrial experience
- Level 3 qualification in Electrotechnical Technology (C&G 2330 or equivalent ONC/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Strong experience working on industrial 3-phase systems
- Experience in control & instrumentation wiring, panel building, and fault finding
- Ability to work in a regulated, safety-critical engineering environment
- Comfortable taking responsibility for hands-on technical delivery tasks
