We are seeking a competent and experienced Site Engineer with a strong background in setting out and civil engineering disciplines to support multiple live infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate setting out, monitoring construction quality and quantities, and working collaboratively with project teams to deliver high-quality works across foundations, drainage, roads and associated civil elements.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and able to work across two or more sites within a typical 25–30 minute travel radius. Daily travel between sites on occasion is expected, though not usually required within the same day.
Key Responsibilities- Perform setting out for earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads and associated civil works in accordance with design intent and specifications.
- Interpret drawings, levels, and design data to establish accurate site control and benchmarks.
- Conduct routine checks on construction quality, levels, dimensions and adherence to specifications.
- Verify and record measured quantities to support site records and reporting.
- Liaise with project management, subcontractors, and survey teams to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Provide clear and accurate site reports, records and as-built information.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Support site management with coordination of day-to-day engineering activities.
- Proven experience as a Civil/Setting Out Site Engineer on earthworks, drainage, highways or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of setting out principles, setting out equipment (e.g. total station / GPS), and surveying processes.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, quality control, and measurement of civil works.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site responsibilities.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites.
- HNC/HND/BEng in Civil Engineering, Surveying or related discipline.
- CSCS/SSSTS/SMSTS certifications.
- Experience on multi-discipline infrastructure frameworks.
