Our client, a dynamic and globally recognised engineering firm, is expanding their commercial team in Scotland and is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow office. A background in the water industry would be advantageous.
About the Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role within the commercial team, taking responsibility for the administration of commercial and financial aspects across the delivery framework. From tender through to final account, you will work closely with colleagues, operational teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administering the commercial and financial aspects of projects on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintaining close communication with Project Management teams.
- Preparing cost and value reports.
- Producing reports on commercial performance.
- Managing procurement of labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
- Providing guidance and supervision to junior team members.
- Preparing monthly commercial performance reports for review by the Commercial Manager.
- Implementing cost control measures.
- Managing subcontractors and cash collection processes.
Requirements
- Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Have experience of fast-paced, high-volume projects.
- Demonstrate strong commercial management and subcontractor procurement skills.
- Be familiar with NEC contracts.
- Have the ability to manage risks and identify opportunities.
- Be capable of working accurately and efficiently with large volumes of data.
- Possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ideally have prior experience in water projects.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
- Show exceptional attention to detail.
