An established and growing Edinburgh-based engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a talented and driven Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a key technical and leadership role, contributing to a range of exciting and challenging developments across Scotland

About the Role:
Working primarily in private sector developments, you will lead and support the delivery of geo-environmental assessments, including Phase 1 and 2 site investigations, risk assessments, remediation strategies, and support during construction.
You’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring junior staff, engaging with clients, and managing project delivery from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Phase 1 and Phase 2 geo-environmental assessments and reporting
Design, manage, and interpret site investigations
Prepare and review risk assessments and remediation strategies
Provide technical input to planning and development projects
Liaise with clients, regulators, and contractors
Mentor junior engineers and support team development
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Requirements:
Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil Engineering, or similar
Minimum 5 years\’ experience in a geo-environmental consultancy role
Strong technical knowledge of contaminated land, ground conditions, and site investigation techniques
Experience with risk assessment tools and remediation planning
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Full UK driving licence
