This position offers a salary ranging from £55,000 to £70,000, with the sweet spot likely in the mid to late £60,000 range. Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage all costs and income within your area of responsibility, minimising project costs while maintaining quality and standards.
  • Prepare, review, and analyse commercial information such as activity schedules, tender documents, and financial reconciliations.
  • Support commercial progress reporting and provide clear updates to senior project stakeholders.
  • Review contract programmes, assist with delay and disruption assessments, and respond to subcontractor activity.
  • Manage variations, compensation events, and claims, including preparation, submission, and negotiation.
  • Work closely with customers, stakeholders, subcontractors, and the wider project team to manage commercial matters.
  • Support procurement activity through constructability analysis and strategy development.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop less experienced commercial colleagues.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven quantity surveying experience with strong commercial judgement.
  • BSc, MSc, or equivalent knowledge in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
  • Professional membership such as MRICS, MCInstCES, or MCIOB, or working towards professional qualification.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management, contract administration, cost control, and reporting.
  • Experience managing subcontractor activity, customer change, variations, and claims.
