Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering Location: Aberdeen Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you looking to join an organisation that places genuine emphasis on the well-being of its people, local communities, and the environment? If so, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. A reputable civil engineering contractor is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will have experience working on civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on roads, groundworks, and infrastructure frameworks. The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the commercial management team and contribute to the successful delivery of projects through effective cost management and procurement. You will play a key role in maximising value and ensuring commercial targets are met. Key Responsibilities Carrying out monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) Maximising valuations and ensuring prompt certification and payments Managing contract variations efficiently and accurately Forecasting cost and value across all project elements Procuring labour, materials, and subcontractors in line with budgets and timelines Monitoring on-site progress and ensuring compliance with contractual procedures Reviewing quotations for specification compliance and cost-effectiveness Preparing and agreeing Final Accounts Managing subcontractor accounts to optimise project performance Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will have a methodical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. You will also possess: A degree in Quantity Surveying (or an equivalent qualification) Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role on civil engineering projects Strong working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts, with the ability to manage complex contract arrangements Proficiency in managing commercial processes from procurement through to final accounts While the role is primarily office-based in Aberdeen, regular travel to site will be required. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the effective and profitable delivery of contracts.
