A well-established civil engineering contractor is entering the next phase of a major demolition programme at a large industrial site in Bishopton and is seeking an experienced Demolition Manager on a contract basis. This role will involve taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of a defined section of demolition works, overseeing the safe demolition of concrete structures up to 15 metres in height and leading a site team of approximately 20 operators and operatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management and supervision of demolition activities
- Safe planning and execution of concrete demolition works
- Leadership and coordination of site teams
- Production and implementation of demolition method statements and risk assessments
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation
- Efficient sequencing and programming of demolition works
Essential Requirements
- CCDO accredited demolition qualification appropriate for managing and supervising demolition works
- Valid CCDO Manager or Supervisor card
- SMSTS
- Proven experience producing demolition method statements and risk assessments
- Strong knowledge of demolition-related HSEQ legislation
- Demonstrable experience managing and coordinating site teams
Desirable (but not essential)
- Temporary Works awareness or Temporary Works Coordinator experience
- Ecological awareness, with experience working under environmental or ecological constraints
The Contract is based full-time on site in Glasgow with an anticipated duration of up to six months. Immediate start available. No weekend working planned at present.
