Contract Scotland are working with a well-established and highly regarded construction and fit-out contractor based in Glasgow, who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a long-standing, high-profile client account.

This is a key leadership role within the business, with responsibility for approximately £3m of work per year, delivered across multiple projects typically ranging from £50k-£500k. The works are varied and fast-paced, covering everything from smaller maintenance and upgrade works through to full retail refits and commercial fit-out projects, largely within live operational environments.

As Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will play a key role in maintaining client relationships and supporting site and project teams to deliver consistently strong results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the delivery of multiple construction projects across a key client account.
  • Ensuring projects are set up and resourced effectively from pre-start through to completion.
  • Managing programme, cost, quality, risk, and compliance across all works.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting Project Managers and site teams.
  • Identifying risks early and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain.
  • Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards across all projects.
  • Ensuring robust reporting, governance, and commercial control.

About you

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, or general building works.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in live environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and best practice.
  • Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities without compromising quality.
  • Relevant construction or management qualifications are advantageous.
