Job Description
- The Chief Estimator provides management, support and assistance to the estimating team.
- This individual is responsible for the overall performance, leadership, mentorship and effectiveness of the estimating team.
- Effectively develop bids that comply with client needs, while providing an acceptable rate of return.
- Review project estimates to establish accuracy and completeness prior to the client presentation.
- Provide technical support to all estimators and prepare estimates as required.
- Lead the selection of subcontractors and major material vendors for projects.
- Participate in pre-bid, bid strategy and presentation meetings to certify consistency.
- Assist in the preparation of preliminary project schedules and bid proposals.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or technical diploma in engineering technology. Trade apprenticeship or certificate an asset.
- Ten or more years of experience in construction estimating; commercial or industrial construction is preferred.
- Ten or more years of experience with larger complex project estimates.
