Opportunities like this do not come along very often. CS International have partnered with a specialist stair contractor based north of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. They are a well-established staircase manufacturer who specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of custom timber staircases for residential and commercial projects. Over the past 26 years, they have built a strong reputation for quality, service and reliability with 90% of their work coming from repeat business.

They are now looking to expand their capability into the curved staircase space and you could be part of this exciting new chapter in the business. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced curved stair specialist who wants to take on a key role in a growing Australian business and enjoy the lifestyle benefits of living on the Central Coast, just north of Sydney.

They are seeking an experienced and hands-on curved stair professional with strong technical and practical capability in the design and manufacture of curved stairs, curved handrails and related bespoke stair components. The successful candidate will need to be able to work across the full process, from interpreting drawings and developing stair geometry through to CNC programming, production support and practical manufacturing input, and oversee installation on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop curved stair solutions for custom residential and commercial projects
  • Prepare detailed production drawings and shop drawings for curved stairs, handrails and associated components
  • Use specialist stair and CAD software
  • Program CNC machines for the manufacture of curved stair components, including stringers, treads, handrails and other bespoke elements
  • Work closely with management, factory staff and installers to ensure designs are practical, accurate and production-ready
  • Assist in establishing and improving internal systems, workflows and processes for curved stair production
  • Review architectural and construction drawings and translate them into buildable, efficient manufacturing outcomes
  • Support problem-solving during design, production and installation stages
  • Contribute technical expertise to pricing, feasibility assessment and project planning for curved stair jobs
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in the design and manufacture of curved stairs
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC machining in a timber manufacturing or stair making environment
  • Strong CAD capability, with experience in software used for design, modelling and production of curved stair components
  • Practical understanding of timber stair construction, joinery methods and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to produce accurate workshop drawings and production information
  • Ability to solve complex geometric and manufacturing challenges
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
