Document Controller – Edinburgh

Are you an experienced Document Controller looking for your next opportunity in Edinburgh? Our client is looking for a highly organised and proactive Document Controller to join their project team and play a key role in ensuring project information is accurate, controlled and readily available.
You’ll work closely with the Design Manager and wider project team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of project documentation through the Common Data Environment (CDE). This is a varied role combining document control, digital information management and general project administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain project documentation across Viewpoint and other digital platforms/CDE systems.
- Ensure documents are correctly named, version controlled, approved and distributed.
- Upload, edit, print and issue drawings, specifications, reports and project deliverables.
- Maintain document registers, trackers and databases, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Support compliance with ISO 19650 information management principles and company procedures.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams regarding project information.
- Assist with portal systems and digital construction processes.
- Provide general administrative support to the project team, including diary and meeting room management.
- Provide reception/front-of-house support when required.
- Help maintain audit-ready document trails and proactively resolve information management issues.
About You
- We’re looking for someone with previous Document Control experience, ideally within construction, civil engineering or the built environment.
- You should have experience working with a Common Data Environment, with Viewpoint experience highly desirable. A good understanding of ISO 19650, document workflows, version control and information management is essential.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, excellent organisation and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are important. You’ll be proactive, reliable and confident working under pressure while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
