Queensland is about to enter a major boom right across the construction sector with massive investment into infrastructure as well as a $120 billion pipeline of 200+ projects for the 2023 Olympics resulting in a projected shortfall of 46,000 in the workforce. There are opportunities in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and other Queensland locations, with some opportunities also coming available in Sydney and Adelaide plus regional/rural roles also available. These roles offer great career prospects with privately-owned tier 1 and tier 2 contractors as well as consultancies who have secured major pipelines of work worth billions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the procurement of subcontractors including preparing, issuing, adjudicating, recommending & awarding subcontract and supply agreements with detailed input from engineering & construction team.
  • Preparation and submission of progress claims and ensuring their timely payment.
  • Subcontract management including receipt and processing of subcontract interim payment claims & final accounts.
  • Process claims for variations and additional entitlement to time & money.
  • Prepare, submit & agree contractual claims for time & money.
  • Manage and participate where necessary in the preparation, submission & agreement of variations.
  • Advise the project management team on contractual issues & initiate correspondence.
  • Prepare, review & submit reports to prescribed timescales (including equipment and cost reports).
  • Review change management.
About you:
  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commercial Law or Construction Management.
  • Previous experience in a similar role having worked for major construction contracting companies.
  • An ability to measure will be highly regarded.
  • A high level of technical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with your ability to liaise confidently with a variety of internal and external stakeholders will be highly regarded.
  • A results-driven and collaborative approach to work.

Whilst sponsorship will be on offer, any candidates aged between 18 and 35 from the UK and 18 and 30 from Europe can head over to Australia at very short notice by utilising the 417 Working Holiday Visa which can be secured within 24 hours for just £350. This will give you the opportunity to enter Australia and start work straight away, and then sponsorship can be arranged whilst you are in the country. Those requiring full sponsorship before relocating are also highly sought after as this is a long-term focus to secure talent and experience for the future development of Australian infrastructure and major construction projects.

CS International will be conducting all initial fact find interviews before introducing you to our clients. You will then have a Teams interview directly with the client in Australia so you will have the opportunity to really sense check your decision to move to the other side of the world.
