Contract Scotland are representing a leading main contractor in the search for an experienced Design Manager to join their team in Elgin. This is a key role overseeing the full design process across major construction projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and seamless coordination from pre-construction through to delivery.
About the Role
- Oversee and manage the full contractor design process throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure strict adherence to all design and build procedures, with Health & Safety and quality as core priorities
- Maintain alignment with the design and delivery programme at all times
- Coordinate external consultants, subcontractors, and internal design teams
- Develop, manage, and finalise work packages in line with project requirements
- Ensure all design elements meet project specifications, drawings, and quality expectations
- Manage design information flow across subcontractor packages
- Chair design coordination meetings and subcontractor design meetings as required
- Take responsibility for contract administration relating to contractor design packages
- Support monthly reporting on design progress, risk, procurement, and off-site manufacture
- Assist the commercial team with subcontract issues and any deviations from tendered scope
About You
- Degree qualified in a construction-related discipline
- Extensive experience in a Design Management role within the construction industry
- Confident decision-maker with a calm, adaptable approach to challenges
- Strong communicator with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Ambitious and motivated to progress your career within a forward-thinking environment
