We're currently recruiting for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to oversee projects across Scotland, playing a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance. This position involves supporting site and management teams with practical HSQE guidance, carrying out audits and inspections, investigating incidents, and driving continuous improvement through KPI monitoring and behavioural safety initiatives.
Our client is a respected engineering contractor delivering maintenance and upgrade works across major UK infrastructure projects, with a strong reputation for safety and quality.
The Role
- Based in Glasgow and the wider Scotland region
- Hybrid working (up to 2 days from home)
- 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri), with some flexibility required
- Regular travel to sites across Scotland
Key Duties
- Advise teams on HSQE best practice and compliance
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and follow-up actions
- Investigate incidents and produce reports
- Track and improve HSQE performance metrics
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Support development of policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
- Work closely with site teams to drive a positive safety culture
About You
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)
- Demonstrable experience within a civil engineering environment
- Strong working knowledge of current H&S legislation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Full UK driving licence
