Contract Scotland is delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected national housebuilder as they look to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Glasgow. The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple housing developments from inception through to final account. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and internal teams. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and managing budgets and cost plans
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages
  • Valuation of subcontractor applications and payments
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Managing variations and final accounts
  • Working closely with site and technical teams to drive commercial performance
  • Supporting junior members of the commercial team where required

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding sector
  • Essential experience within volume housebuilding
  • Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and cost control
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple developments simultaneously
  • HND/Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
