  • Build a career in recruitment with Contract Scotland

Contract Scotland is a recruitment consultancy that was established to challenge how the recruitment industry works and set a new standard for the service we provide.

We don't operate a traditional target and commission model.

Instead, we focus on providing our customers with a transparent recruitment service that delivers genuine value and lasting impact to their lives and businesses.

We're proud of what we've built, and as we continue to grow, we're looking to add to our existing team.

So, what exactly is a Recruitment Resourcer?

Sometimes called a Candidate Consultant or Researcher, you'll be working closely alongside our Senior Recruitment Consultant within the Building & Construction sector, helping them identify, engage and connect with talented people across the construction industry.

Our Senior Recruitment Consultant is an expert in his field of construction.

You'll work closely together day to day, learning directly from someone who knows the industry, understands the people within it and has spent years building relationships and delivering successful recruitment campaigns.

You won't be expected to know the construction industry or recruitment inside out when you join.

You'll have someone alongside you who can share their knowledge, guide you through the process and help you develop your own skills and expertise.

You'll play an important role throughout the recruitment process, with a particular focus on finding, engaging and developing relationships with candidates.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Sourcing and engaging with candidates across a range of platforms.
  • Conducting candidate outreach and building relationships with people in the industry.
  • Writing and posting attractive job adverts and marketing opportunities.
  • Reviewing and assessing CVs.
  • Conducting first-stage candidate interviews.
  • Marketing our roles and services through online platforms to build awareness of our business.

The main difference between this and a traditional Recruitment Consultant role is that your focus will be on the candidate side of recruitment, rather than selling our services to employers and developing client relationships.

It's a people-focused role that requires curiosity, good communication skills and an interest in understanding what makes people tick.

What can we offer you?

We want to give you the best possible start and the tools to build a successful career in recruitment.

  • A comprehensive training programme: provides a thorough and structured introduction to recruitment, delivered by an experienced team in construction and engineering recruitment.
  • Learn from an industry expert: You'll have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Senior Recruitment Consultant who knows his sector inside out.

You'll benefit from his day-to-day guidance, mentoring and industry knowledge, learning from someone who has built an extensive network and understands what makes recruitment successful.

  • A proven approach to recruitment: We've spent over 35 years developing our recruitment processes, giving you the structure, knowledge and tools to do your job well.
  • The best of recruitment technology and AI: We embrace new technology to help our team work smarter, identify and assess candidates, communicate effectively and make the most of their time.
  • A supportive team: You'll have ongoing support, guidance and encouragement from experienced colleagues who want to see you succeed.
  • Room to develop: This is an opportunity to build specialist knowledge, develop your skills and establish a career within a growing recruitment business.

What are we looking for?

You don't need previous recruitment experience.

We'd be delighted to hear from people looking to get into the industry, although any existing recruitment experience would be welcome.

Experience in customer service, hospitality, retail or another people-focused environment would be particularly useful.

You'll be communicating with a wide range of people every day, whether by telephone, online meetings, face to face or email.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who brings

  • Energy and enthusiasm: Someone who brings a positive attitude, enjoys getting stuck in and contributes to the momentum and morale of the team, even when things get challenging.
  • Adaptability and an open mind: Recruitment is constantly evolving.

We need someone who is comfortable embracing change, learning new things and adopting technology as it develops.

We're also a team that helps each other out, so being willing to pitch in when needed is important.

  • Motivation and ambition: Someone who takes pride in what they do, wants to keep improving and is motivated to become really good at their job.
  • An interest in people: You'll be speaking to people from all walks of life.

Being approachable, curious and genuinely interested in understanding people, their experiences and what motivates them will go a long way.

A little more about life at Contract Scotland

We believe in looking after our people and offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Quarterly bonus scheme.
  • Excellent private health insurance, with no excess, covering physical and mental health.
  • Hybrid working opportunities.
  • Enhanced annual leave allowance, with additional days awarded for loyalty.
  • An extra day off on your birthday.
  • Use of our modern holiday home on the banks of Loch Ness.
