Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor specialising in high voltage (HV) electrical solutions, is currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their expanding and dynamic team. With over a decade of successful operation within the HV cabling sector and a strong emphasis on safety, the company has earned an excellent reputation, delivering projects across the UK and mainland Europe.
While the role is based in Inverness, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to travel to support projects throughout Scotland and the North of England.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Site Agent, the Site Engineer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of HV cabling projects. The role will encompass both technical and managerial responsibilities across a variety of project stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out site setting out
- Conducting initial surveys and site investigations
- Implementing site strategies in accordance with management direction
- Verifying the accuracy of design plans, technical drawings, and quantity calculations
- Assisting with overall site management and coordination
- Supporting the re-measurement and valuation of contracts
- Contributing to tender preparation, including site surveys, bulk earthworks quantities, and value engineering assessments
- Overseeing quality control and ensuring all site activities comply with health and safety regulations
- Preparing method statements and risk assessments
- Providing general engineering support across project sites
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum HNC qualification in Civil Engineering
- Previous experience working within a civil engineering contracting environment
- Experience on SSE Frameworks (desirable)
- Competency in setting out and surveying (essential)
- Working knowledge of CAD (advantageous)
- Valid CSCS card and First Aid at Work (3 Day) (advantageous)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (required)
- Willingness to travel and work across various locations in Scotland and Northern England
- Full UK driving licence
