Overview
We are supporting a brand‐new, nationally significant infrastructure project in Caithness and are seeking an experienced Site‐Based Quality Advisor to join the on‐site delivery team. This is a long‐term opportunity with a reputable contractor, ideal for someone who wants stability, strong project exposure, and consistent Monday–Friday work on a major linear civils scheme.
What you'll be doing:
- Work closely with the Project Manager Installation (PIM), Site Installation Manager (SIM) and Project Quality Manager (PQM) to ensure all quality requirements are met and recorded.
- Ensure full compliance with project QCP and ITP requirements, supporting site managers and installation teams with accurate documentation and on‐site checks.
- Verify adherence to relevant UK standards (BS EN, NGTS, ENATS) across all site activities, documentation, and plans.
- Conduct routine and ad‐hoc inspections including duct spacing/depth, backfill materials, compaction, duct proving, haul road construction, cable installation, jointing and termination works.
- Raise and manage NCRs for civil subcontractors; support root‐cause analysis and drive corrective/preventative actions.
- Oversee and verify delivered materials, including quarry materials and routine testing of surround materials.
- Support internal and client audits, ensuring readiness and accurate representation of site quality activities.
- Promote a strong quality culture on site, delivering toolbox talks, lessons learned and improvement briefings.
- Coordinate client witness points, ensuring activities are planned, communicated and documented.
- Review project documentation for technical and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and update quality trackers and contribute to final documentation packages.
- Liaise directly with client representatives and attend project meetings.
- Identify risks and opportunities, taking proactive action to mitigate or realise them.
Experience & Preferred Skills:
- Linear civil engineering experience essential.
- Strong technical understanding of civil engineering, duct installation, reinstatement and cable‐related works.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and confident producing high‐quality documentation.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

- Degree or formal qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quality (preferred)
- SMSTS / SSSTS
- Temporary Works awareness/experience
- First Aid (preferred)
- CSCS Card
