Winning work is about more than putting a tender together. It’s about understanding the client, bringing the right people together and producing a bid that gives the business the best possible chance of success. We are looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join an established construction business and take ownership of bids across a varied project portfolio. This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys the full bid process and wants to be part of a close-knit team where their contribution is noticed.

You’ll work with pre-construction, estimating, commercial and operational teams, with genuine scope to develop your experience and progress within the business.

The opportunity

You will manage bids from early opportunity through to submission, making sure the process is well planned, deadlines are met, and the final submission is commercially strong and client-focused.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, from tender review through to submission.
  • Develop bid programmes, strategies and action plans.
  • Coordinate contributions from estimating, commercial, design, operations and other teams.
  • Review tender requirements and ensure submissions are fully compliant.
  • Lead the production of written submissions, presentations and supporting documents.
  • Work with the wider team to develop clear and compelling responses to client requirements.
  • Coordinate input from supply-chain partners and external consultants where required.
  • Support presentations, interviews and post-tender clarification meetings.
  • Keep track of the pipeline and ensure bid information and CRM records are maintained.
  • Review completed bids and capture feedback to improve future submissions.

We’re looking for someone who knows how a construction bid comes together and can keep people focused when there are multiple deadlines competing for attention.

You are likely to bring:

  • Previous experience managing bids within construction or a related built-environment business.
  • A good understanding of the construction tender and procurement process.
  • Strong written communication skills and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage several bids at different stages.
  • Confidence working with senior colleagues and coordinating input from different teams.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes a bid competitive.
  • A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Why this role?

You’ll join an established construction business with a strong pipeline of work and a varied portfolio of projects. The role is full-time and office-based, with occasional travel for meetings, presentations and other bid-related activity. For the right person, this is more than simply managing tenders. You’ll have the opportunity to build your experience, work closely with experienced construction professionals and take on increasing responsibility as you develop.

If you’re an experienced Bid Manager looking for your next move, we’d like to hear from you.
