An established and progressive civil engineering contractor based in Glasgow is looking to add an Estimator to their growing commercial team. This is a company that values long-term relationships, stability, and internal growth — with an average length of service of over 20 years across the business. They have a strong reputation for promoting from within, offering genuine long-term career progression and development.
They’re now expanding their reach across regional frameworks and are looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey — not just for the next project, but for the long run.
As an Estimator, you’ll work within a young and energetic commercial team, preparing accurate and competitive estimates across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone with an SME mindset AND experience in Water projects — someone adaptable, team-oriented, and motivated by quality relationships rather than aggressive commercial tactics.
Key responsibilities:- Preparing detailed estimates and cost plans for civil engineering projects
- Supporting framework bids and long-term regional contracts
- Liaising closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
- Providing input into tender strategy and value engineering
- Ensuring all commercial submissions are compliant and competitive
You’ll bring strong estimating experience within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector — ideally with some exposure to concrete, water, or framework-based projects.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has civil engineering estimating experience (frameworks experience an advantage)
- Thrives in a collaborative, relationship-led environment
- Is adaptable and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership
- Prefers the culture and flexibility of an SME, not a Tier 1 environment
- Is looking for long-term stability and career development — not short-term moves
This role offers a clear pathway to a senior position, with the potential to progress toward a Commercial Director role for the right person.
What’s on Offer:- Hybrid working (office and home-based balance)
- Permanent, long-term opportunity within a stable and supportive business
- Progressive company culture with strong internal promotion record
- Competitive salary (aligned to experience and value brought) + comprehensive benefits package
If you’re an Estimator who values teamwork, long-term security, and the chance to make a real impact in a business that invests in its people, this is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career.
