Our client, a well-established and highly respected construction business with a strong reputation across Scotland, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a business delivering a diverse portfolio of high-quality construction projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential and public sectors.
Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you'll gain exposure to projects from pre-construction through to final account while developing your commercial and contractual expertise within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:- Assisting with the commercial management of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Preparing and submitting interim valuations and applications for payment.
- Assisting with subcontract procurement, tender analysis and appointment.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts.
- Monitoring project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
- Supporting the preparation of cost reports and commercial updates.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
- Assisting with contract administration under standard forms of contract.
- Building strong working relationships with site teams, clients and subcontractors.
- A minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
- Experience working for a main contractor.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
