An opportunity has become available for a Quantity Surveyor to join a successful and expanding construction contractor within their Edinburgh office, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects. With a strong pipeline of work and continued business growth, our client is seeking a commercially aware professional to join their team and play a key role in supporting project delivery while ensuring strong financial performance.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from initial stages through to completion. Working closely with operational teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining cost control and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing cost management across multiple construction projects
- Preparing and submitting interim valuations and managing variations
- Assisting with procurement and subcontractor packages
- Monitoring project expenditure against budgets
- Supporting the negotiation and agreement of final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing effective solutions
- Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or HND qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Experience working in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction sector
- Strong understanding of commercial processes and contract management
- Excellent organisational and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within project teams
- Proficiency with standard commercial and Microsoft Office software
