Contract Personnel is looking for a motivated and hands-on Nursery Operative to join a busy plant nursery team! This is a varied, practical role involving plant propagation, order preparation, and general nursery maintenance. You’ll be working both indoors and outdoors, including in polytunnels.
Key duties include:
- Propagating plants from seed, cuttings, and division
- Harvesting seeds and assisting with coir planting
- Picking and packing plant orders for dispatch
- Weeding, watering, and general plant care
- Monitoring and reporting pests and diseases
- Supporting irrigation and nursery upkeep
- Operating horticultural machinery safely
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
What we’re looking for:
- Nursery or horticulture experience is desirable (not essential)
- Or a strong interest in horticulture/agriculture
- Ability to work in a fast-paced nursery environment
- Reliable, practical, and willing to learn
Hours: 07:00 – 16:00
Pay: £13.82 per hour
