We are currently recruiting for a Technical Assembly Operative to join our client’s team in Beccles on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced assembler with strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.

The Role

As a Technical Assembly Operative, you will work from instructions, technical drawings and specifications to assemble components accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and understand work instructions, technical drawings and established procedures.
  • Gather the required materials, components and equipment before starting each task.
  • Take accurate and precise measurements to ensure components fit correctly.
  • Select, adjust or modify components in accordance with measurements and specifications.
  • Align materials and assemble individual parts to create more complex units.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Keep tools and equipment clean, maintained and in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of production quantities and time spent on tasks.
  • Identify and report any issues, equipment malfunctions or defective components.
  • Work safely and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an assembly, manufacturing or engineering environment and be confident working with hand tools, machinery and technical drawings.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as an assembler or in a similar technical manufacturing role.
  • The ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Good practical and technical skills, with experience using hand tools and machinery.
  • A good understanding of quality control and inspection procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and good physical fitness.
  • A reliable, responsible and positive approach to work.HNC or HND in a technical discipline would be advantageous, although relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
