An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Officer to join a thriving primary school in Thetford.

The Role

As Site Officer, you will play an important role in ensuring the school site, buildings and facilities are maintained to a safe and high standard. You will work closely with the wider school team, helping to ensure the site operates effectively and provides a welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Unlocking the site
  • Check the heating / water works on arrival
  • Gritting pathways in adverse weather
  • Sweeping leaves
  • General maintenance – changing light bulbs, fixing door handles, etc
  • Put bins out
  • Help unload deliveries and put in the stockroom
  • Update the computer system with site checks

Monday to Friday

7am to 3:25pm (1 hour lunch)

37 hours per week

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or site-based role
  • A relevant technical or vocational qualification is desirable
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Confidence using IT systems and software
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance is desirable
  • A proactive and practical approach to maintaining a safe and well-presented environment
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of children
