Location: Glogan House Hostel, 59 Taunton Road, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3HW Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent About the Role: Contract Options is currently recruiting a reliable and experienced Chef for a temporary to permanent position at Bridgwater Probation Service. This is a Monday to Friday shift, working afternoons from 1pm to 6pm. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents at Glogan House Hostel, adhering to health and safety regulations, and supporting a calm and respectful kitchen environment. What We’re Looking For: ✅ A candidate who is comfortable working within a probation centre environment ✅ Basic DBS Certificate (issued within the last 12 months). If you do not have one, we can assist in applying for a new certificate ✅ Must be local to Bridgwater or have a full UK driving licence and access to transport ✅ Experience in a similar role (chef, cook, catering assistant, etc.) ✅ Ability to work independently and manage kitchen duties confidently What We Offer: * £14.50 per hour, paid weekly * Support in obtaining a DBS if needed * Opportunity for a permanent role after a successful 12-week probationary period * A supportive recruitment team with ongoing communication and assistance
