We are working with a multi-site manufacturing business operating in complex, project-led environments, supplying engineered products into demanding industrial sectors.

As the business continues to scale, they are looking to appoint a Senior Buyer to strengthen their materials procurement capability. This role will contribute across purchasing activity for multiple sites, with a strong focus on supplier selection, commercial negotiation, and supporting project delivery.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working at the front end of the supply chain, identifying the right suppliers and securing strong commercial outcomes.

The role:

  • Support procurement of raw materials across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers aligned to technical and commercial requirements
  • Lead commercial negotiations to secure pricing, terms, and supply agreements
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and project teams to support delivery timelines
  • Contribute to cost reduction and value engineering initiatives
  • Support wider purchasing activity across categories linked to project demand
  • Monitor market trends, availability, and pricing across key material groups

The person:

  • Proven experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer role within manufacturing
  • Strong background in materials procurement, ideally metals or alloys
  • Experience in supplier selection and commercial negotiation is essential
  • Comfortable operating in multi-site and project-led environments
  • Commercially sharp, with a structured and analytical approach
  • Able to engage effectively with both suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • CIPS qualification or working towards is advantageous, but not essential
