We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced General Manager to lead a heavy manufacturing business in the West Midlands. With full P&L responsibility for a £10m to £15m operation employing approximately 100 people, you will lead the next phase of operational recovery, performance improvement and sustainable growth. The business forms part of a larger ownership group and has experienced a period of instability over recent years. With a strong order book, renewed investment and a clear improvement strategy now in place, this is an opportunity for an experienced operator to make a lasting impact.
The role
- Full P&L responsibility for a £10m to £15m manufacturing operation
- Lead a workforce of approximately 100 employees through a recovery and improvement phase.
- Drive improvements across safety, quality, delivery, productivity and profitability
- Develop a leadership culture with an embedded culture of accountability and high performance
- Work closely with the wider group to deliver strategic objectives and long term growth
The person
- Senior manufacturing leadership experience with full P&L responsibility (Ops Director, GM, Manufacturing Manager etc)
- Background within heavy manufacturing, hot metals, fabrications or similarly complex production environments
- Proven experience delivering operational recovery or business improvement programmes
- Strong commercial and operational capability with the ability to balance customer delivery and financial performance
- Experience leading through influence, building stakeholder alignment and delivering change across matrix or group structures
- Resilient, hands-on leader with the credibility to engage at every level of the organisation
