We are working with a complex, multi-site manufacturing business looking to appoint a Financial Accountant into a true number two role to the Financial Controller. This is a hands-on position with real breadth, suited to someone who wants to step beyond pure reporting and get closer to operations and commercial drivers. The business operates across multiple manufacturing sites, with varied product lines and ongoing investment in systems, process improvement and project activity. Finance plays a central role in supporting operational performance, margin control and decision making.
The Role
- Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of core financial processes while also supporting wider business initiatives.
- Ownership of month-end close processes across multiple sites.
- Preparation of management accounts and supporting analysis.
- Accounting for stock and materials, including valuation, controls and reconciliation.
- Managing customer rebates and complex revenue adjustments.
- Supporting project-based work across operations, including cost tracking and financial oversight.
- Balance sheet reconciliations and control improvements.
- Partnering with site teams to improve financial visibility, particularly around inventory, materials usage and cost control.
- Supporting audits and statutory reporting where required.
This is a role that goes beyond standard financial accounting, with exposure to operational stakeholders and the opportunity to influence how finance supports the wider business.
The Person
- ACA qualified or equivalent.
- Ideal for either a first move from practice or a second move within industry.
- Strong grounding in financial reporting, controls and inventory accounting.
