We’re supporting a growing engineering and manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced mechatronics environment, looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead New Product Introduction activity. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a position where you sit at a distance. You’ll be embedded in the day-to-day, working closely with engineering, production and project teams to deliver new products into manufacture with strong control over timelines and quality. You’ll directly manage a small team of senior engineers and take ownership of how NPI is delivered across the business, while acting as the main communication point into the leadership team for this value stream.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading NPI activity from concept through to production
  • Line managing and developing a team of 4–5 senior engineers
  • Acting as the primary interface between the NPI function and the senior leadership team
  • Driving on-time, in-full delivery across multiple concurrent projects
  • Acting as the key link between design, engineering and manufacturing
  • Being present on the shop floor, supporting problem solving and escalation
  • Implementing and improving structured NPI and project delivery processes
  • Supporting the business through a pipeline of complex and time-critical projects

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in an Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer or NPI-focused role
  • Background within a mechatronics, electro-mechanical or complex manufacturing environment
  • Strong track record of delivering projects to tight OTIF requirements
  • Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to be visible and involved day-to-day
  • Experience managing or mentoring senior engineers
  • Electrically biased background would be beneficial, but not essential
