Hourly Rate: £15.62 to £17.52 per hour with enhanced rate for UK public holidays
Shifts available:
- Morning 9:00am – 2:00pm
- Afternoon 2:00pm – 6:00pm (temporary schedule until further notice)
- Evening 6:00pm – 10:00pm + sleep night 10:00pm – 9:00am
Our service user requires 7 days care; we are looking for a member of staff to join our existing team. There is some flexibility to cover sickness and annual leave within the Specialist Care Assistant team.
Eligibility Criteria
- Previous care experience is essential
- You must be eligible to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorship
- Full UK driving licence to drive clients’ Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) (essential)

About the role of Specialist Care Assistant
Continuity of Care Services is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Specialist Care Assistant to provide complex support for our 50s male client living with a spinal injury who wishes to be as independent as possible. Our client requires support both in this home and to access the local community, to ensure he leads an active life. You will need to be able to cook from scratch as our client likes a nice homecooked meal. Before you begin, you will have the opportunity to meet your client and their family to ensure you are well-prepared for the role.
The services you will deliver as a Specialist Care Assistant
The role of Specialist Care Assistant is varied and depends on the needs of the individual. You will be offering companionship and emotional support to our vulnerable service users in the comfort of their own homes. Among other duties, you may be carrying out the following (not limited to):
- Complex moving and handling
- Accompanying on social events or shopping
- Basic household chores
- Personal care
- Medication administration
- Catheter, Stoma Care, Peristeen Care, Autonomic Dysreflexia (beneficial but not essential; full training will be provided)
