Overview

Continuity of Care Services is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide complex support for our 50s male client living with a spinal injury who wishes to be as independent as possible.

Our client requires support both in his home and to access the local community, to ensure he leads an active life.

You'll need to be able to cook from scratch as our client likes a nice homecooked meal.

Before you begin, you will have the opportunity to meet your client and their family to ensure you are well prepared for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Complex moving and handling
  • Accompanying on social events or shopping etc.
  • Basic household chores
  • Personal care
  • Medication administration
  • Catheter, stoma care, peristeen care, autonomic dysreflexia (beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided)
  • Other duties as required by the client’s needs

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous care experience is essential.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK; we do not offer sponsorship.
  • Full UK driving licence to drive clients.
  • Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) experience (essential).
  • Compassionate and patient demeanour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
