Location: New Romney, Kent

Hourly Rate: £15.00 to £16.83

Shifts: 10:30am to 5:30pm Monday and Tuesday and a minimum of every other Saturday OR Sunday 10:30am to 5:30pm.

You will complete a team of 3 working 1:1 for this care package, and we ask that there is some flexibility to cover sickness and annual leave within the Complex Care Assistant team.

Before you begin, you are required to go through the onboarding process, including induction and training. You will have the opportunity to meet your client and his family to shadow existing staff and to ensure you are well prepared for the role. The whole process typically takes around a couple of months; therefore, the full-time shifts would start in August-September.

About The Role

Continuity of Care Services is looking for compassionate and dedicated Male Complex Care Assistants to support a gentleman in his 30's who has epilepsy, learning disabilities, and autism. It is essential that you have relevant experience. He requires assistance both in his home and to access the local community, in and around the New Romney area, to lead his best life. Our client loves to swim, and therefore we seek a confident swimmer to support this activity. You will be required to drive our client's wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), and it is important that you are a confident and calm driver.

Our Clients Requirements
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and autism and/or behaviours that challenge (essential)
  • Confident swimmer (essential)
  • Complex moving and Manual Handling experience (preferred but training will be given)
  • Personal care
  • Medication Administration; some experience with diabetes medication preferred but not essential
  • Meal preparation and snack provision
