On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for a PMO Analyst (Digital & Capability) for a 12-month contract based in Derby (Hybrid-3 days per week in office).
Purpose of the role: As PMO Analyst (Digital & Capability) you will join the Client's Portfolio, Program, and Project Management Office (PPMO) team. You will be part of the development of P3M (Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management) capability across Digital & IT, embedding consistent delivery methodologies, assessing capability maturity, and addressing priority gaps.
What you'll do:
- Define and embed standard project management methodologies, templates, and handbooks to improve delivery consistency and predictability.
- Provide training, coaching, and build communities of practice to upskill project and programme managers and delivery teams.
- Assess P3M maturity, identify gaps, and implement capability uplift initiatives to enhance team confidence and effectiveness.
- Coach and support PMO and project analyst teams to strengthen internal capability and contribute to a high-performing PPMO.
- Collaborate with enterprise PM capability teams to align Digital & IT practices with global standards and leverage best practices.
- Actively contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PPMO processes and capabilities, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge across the team.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative approach by assisting with tasks outside your immediate remit when required, helping to ensure the resilience and effectiveness of the team.
The skills you'll need:
- Proven experience in project management or project analysis within a complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of P3M methodologies.
- Ability to translate best practice into practical, easy-to-consume guidance for diverse teams.
- Experience in training, coaching, or capability development for project delivery professionals.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across multiple teams and levels.
- Strong analytical skills to assess capability maturity and identify gaps.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities within a PMO environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, support team members, and contribute to a positive team culture.
