Job Description

THE POSITION

Hoosier Racing Tire in Plymouth, IN , is seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. This role serves as a key link between production and process engineering, supporting the industrialization of new products, materials, and processes. The Process Engineer will troubleshoot manufacturing issues, evaluate R&D trials, and drive continuous quality improvements through machine recipe adjustments, operator training, and audits. Responsibilities also include maintaining precise data records, revising procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency and problem-solving strategies.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Act as the interface between production and process engineers, supporting industrialization, R&D trials, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Drive quality improvements through machine recipe adjustments, operator work instructions, and audits.
  • Maintain a strong quality mindset by making informed decisions, reporting issues, and ensuring accurate data recording.
  • Perform daily tasks, including logging problems, updating procedures, managing Holds, documenting trials, and mentoring new employees.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Capable of lifting 25-75lbs on occasion.
  • Must be able to work 12 a.m. – 12 p.m. Sat/Sun and two 8hr. shifts during the week.
  • Experience in a tire building plant, minimum 1 year.
  • Capable of running production machines (e.g. 1 stage tire building, bead winder, treader).
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Tools, including: basic data entry in Excel, composing and sending emails (with and without attachments) in Microsoft Outlook, creating PowerPoint presentations from templates.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, troubleshoot collaboratively, and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
