HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Responsible for transporting goods using box and/or tractor-trailer trucks.
- Operate various material handling equipment, including Powered Industrial Trucks, in a safe manner.
- Transport goods between company locations.
- Maintain Trip Log according to state and federal regulations and submit to the office monthly for record retention.
- Perform truck and trailer inspections as required by law.
- Communicate safety or equipment concerns to management immediately.
- Report incidents/accidents promptly.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks/trailers for intercompany and over-the-road transport.
- Physically receive and transfer materials to designated storage locations (production, warehouse, line side, etc.).
- Ensure the safe operation of Tractor, Box Truck, and Material Handling equipment, including safety checks, PPE, and following organizational protocols.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, inventory discrepancies, shortages, or damages to Lead Material Handlers.
- Assist with inventory activities such as counting, cycle counts, and spot checks.
- Consolidate stock as needed.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, incorporating 5S principles.
THE ENVIRONMENT
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures, including wearing safety glasses, steel/composite toe shoes, and hearing protection when necessary.
- Work in a 24/7 facility with various shifts, including a 2/2/3 rotating 12-hour schedule, and 8-hour shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am).
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to temperature swings, forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.
- Physical tasks include lifting and operating machinery, with training provided.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- No experience necessary.
- CDL-A license required.
- Basic math skills; forklift experience preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available.
