A fantastic opportunity for a Consultant Physician with a Special Interest in Stroke Medicine to join a forward-thinking NHS team. You’ll provide expert care across a 7-day stroke service, including a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), Neurovascular clinics, and rehabilitation. There’s flexibility to develop subspecialty interests in areas such as Elderly Care or Neurology, with opportunities for teaching, research, and service development. Supportive mentoring, a collaborative multidisciplinary team, and a modern Telestroke rota make this an ideal role for both new and experienced consultants.
Remuneration & Benefits:
- Competitive salary – negotiable depending on experience
- Relocation support – up to £20,000 (subject to eligibility)
Essential Requirements:
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise
- MRCP (or equivalent)
- High level of clinical experience and competence in Stroke Medicine
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Empathetic and sensitive approach to patient care
- Ability to take full independent responsibility for clinical care

Working Pattern & On-Call:
- Flexible working across sites in the Manchester region.
- 7-day Consultant availability required for Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), Neurovascular clinics, and stroke rehabilitation ward
- On-call commitment: 1:14 via Telestroke system
- Consultant-led decision making for thrombolysis and thrombectomy referrals during the working day
- Multidisciplinary working with Stroke ACPs, Nurse Consultant, therapists, and clinical neuropsychologists
